The 2016 AUDL West Division playoffs will be hosted by the Los Angeles Aviators at Occidental College during the weekend of July 16 and 17.
As the league looked into what location would be most suited to host this year’s playoff series, the AUDL and the other teams in the West all agreed that Los Angeles would be the most suitable venue. With a facility that is available and accommodating, a game day operations crew that is one of the best in the league, supportive sponsors, and a terrific ultimate community, the Aviators organization is proud to show off everything it has to offer on a stage such as the playoffs.
On Saturday evening, July 16, the Los Angeles Aviators and Seattle Cascades will compete in the 2nd/3rd place game. The San Francisco FlameThrowers, as a result of claiming first place in the West division, earn a bye straight into the championship game. The winner of the 2nd/3rd place game will play San Francisco on Sunday afternoon to determine who will represent the West in Championship Weekend in Madison, Wisconsin. Both games will be held at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
The Aviators and the AUDL are currently working towards having ESPN3 involved to broadcast both games, though more information in that regard will be available later on.
