Aviators + Viva

The role of professional ultimate

As professional ultimate continues to grow and become more visible, we take our responsibility as the leaders of that growth seriously. This means that when we can lead by example by supporting all forms of ultimate whether it’s youth, mixed and especially the women’s ultimate movement, we will do our best to assist those leading the efforts in those areas. The impact this sport has on the young women that play this sport is overwhelmingly positive and measurable. Today, the Los Angeles Aviators are proud to announce the support of local women’s team Viva Ultimate to host youth clinics and sell a limited edition T-shirt at our games and online. All proceeds from sales of this shirt will go directly to fund Viva’s upcoming season. Equally, Viva will graciously pay it forward, donating 25% of sales to the The University of Texas at Austin Women’s Centex Tournament and Without Limits, helping to foster women’s ultimate at all levels.

Viva is the premiere women’s ultimate club team in Los Angeles. The team consists of some of the best talent in Southern California, including current and former players from college programs such as UCLA BLU, USC Hellions, and Claremont Greenshirts. Last season they were proud to play in the game-to-go to Nationals against Nightlock, an elite Bay Area team. They are currently in the process of selecting the roster for Viva 2015, looking to build on last year’s results, to proudly represent LA women, and to compete on the national level. Viva supports Without Limits and Centex and their mission to foster women’s ultimate at all levels. They’re committed to the development of youth and women’s ultimate in partnership with the Los Angeles Aviators and the American Ultimate Disc League.
