MichaelKiyoi

Bow to the Sultan! The Aviators would like to announce Michael Kiyoi as a 2015 Los Angeles Aviator! Michael was one of the first players we spoke with about joining our roster so he holds a special place in history for our franchise. Unfortunately due to injury, Michael won’t be on the field to wow the fans, but we are happy to announce that Michael will be joining our coaching staff as an assistant, helping head coach Franklin Rho prepare our team and using his experience and natural mentoring qualities to guide our first year players throughout the AUDL season. We can’t say enough how important his role will be to the franchise. We always valued Micheal as a part of the Aviator family injury or not so we are pumped about having him on board!

Michael has spent most of his time in Santa Barbara, CA and his Ultimate resume runs thick : played for Smaug at UCLA for 5 years, captaining his 5th year in 2009. He just finished his sixth year with the Elite club team Santa Barbara Condors and has reached Nationals in 4 of those 6 years. He believes in the importance of youth Ultimate as shown in 2010 when he played for Emerald City Ultimate in Seattle and traveled with them hosting youth clinic across the country. He joined the San Jose Spiders in 2014 and helped them win an AUDL Championship. Michael currently resides in Santa Barbara, CA and is an Instrumental Music Director for San Marcos High School. Please, welcome Michael Kiyoi to the Aviators, as he will fly with us in 2015!
